The Dean's Collectors Club was launched at the Kensington Teddy Bear Fair in London on August 22nd, 1994. The initial subscription cost £25 in the UK, and the first membership bear, Hector (pictured below) came free with membership along with a metal lapel badge, and Club Reporter magazine. The format of the club has remained more or less the same over the years with a slight increase in the membership subscription to £30 (UK) today. The earliest bears have become highly collectable on the secondary market. We still have a handful of our original members from 1994. On the club's 5th anniversary in 1999, we launched the Silver Society, giving members of 5 years a silver membership badge and certificate. After 10 years, we then launched the Gold Society, with a gold badge and certificate. Approximately 60% of our members are now Silver members or higher. The section below shows the membership bears from each year, the final edition size and the badge colour which corresponds to that year.
